Interviews

Lunch Ticket

2020

As an interviewer at Lunch Ticket, I got to sit down and have chats with accomplished, published literary writers. I asked them all the questions that interested me, which I knew would also interest our readers for the magazine.

Achievement Center of Texas

2017-2018

To bring more traffic to Achievement Center of Texas’ website, I had to get a little creative. The special needs community is close-knit but not very large, so even if people were searching things about special needs, it was still pretty unlikely that they would come across the ACT website–and even less likely that they were in Garland, looking for Day Hab.

I started interviewing big-name people in the local special needs community to bring new users to the website. When people searched for the other companies (which were not competitors), they’d find our website and think, “Oh, hey, actually, yeah, I do need to enroll my son into a new Day Hab center.”

During this process, I did as much secondary research as possible, not wanting to bore the interview subject (or the reader!) by asking things I could find out with a simple Google search. I started with a list of main questions, and then I just saw where the conversation took me. Here are the links to the interviews I conducted, transcribed and formatted (some with true, mumble-core exact quotes, others with subject-approved paraphrasing):
